CONTINUING EDUCATION COLLEGE CREDIT ACUPUNCTURE CERTIFICATION

If you have graduated and are degreed in Acupuncture through any of the approved acupuncture colleges or, certified through any of the CCE approved Acupuncture programs, certified through the NCCAOM, NBCE, The Acupuncture Society of America, The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, The UCLA School of Medicine acupuncture program, select Naturopathic College programs, the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, will allow credit for previous study leading toward “Fellowship” (FIAMA) and “Diplomate” (Dipl.Med.Ac.).

To recognize the efforts of those practitioners certified through other college and university acupuncture programs, the IAMA will allow those previously certified, to attend an accelerated reciprocal program earning the title “Fellow” (FIAMA) of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Successful completion of the IAMA’s final competency examination is required.

Classes #1 – #7 are all online. Class #7 consists of the final examination and blood borne pathogen and sterile needle technique.

ACUPUNCTURE CERTIFICATION

This program is only available to doctors and acupuncturists able to provide a transcript of completion of another acupuncture program from an approved and accepted certifying Institute. The Board of Directors of the IAMA will have final say on approved programs.

“Fellows” (FIAMA) are eligible for “Diplomate” (Dipl.Med.Ac.)(IAMA) by participation in the Level 2 seven module distance learning program (15 hours per class, 105 hours) in addition to submission of 30 case studies (Level 3, 100 hours) for peer review within one year of attainment of “Fellowship” status. The International Academy of Medical Acupuncture has awarded Fellowship (FIAMA) certification to more than 20,000 physicians of all disciplines since 1978. It is considered one of the most respected honors in medical/clinical acupuncture internationally. Fellows of the Academy are located in 29 countries of the world.

15 hours continuing education college credits per program from Northeast College of Health Sciences (Frank J. Nicchi School of Continuing Education). License renewal credit for individual States vary in the Chiropractic profession. The Medical and Acupuncture profession generally accepts all post graduate education.
