CONTINUING EDUCATION COLLEGE CREDIT ACUPUNCTURE CERTIFICATION

This Post Graduate approved Acupuncture “Certification” program for “Professionals”, is presented over one academic year. The program consists of 105 hours didactic and 200 hours of documented clinical application, conducted in seven accelerated, academic, clinical modules of 15 hours each. Continuing education college credit and Certification in “acupuncture” is awarded through Northeast College of Health Sciences (Frank J. Nicchi School of Continuing Education)

Clinical competence, ethical practice, safety to the public and academic excellence is paramount.

This program in Acupuncture is specifically designed for physicians of all disciplines. Even though it is not intended as a full program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), numerous concepts and procedures of TCM are discussed.  It specifically deals with ancient and modern concepts to include theory, philosophy, history, diagnostic methods and specific acupuncture techniques and practices.  The program incorporates procedures and techniques from a variety of countries to include Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia as well as the People’s Republic of China.  In addition, special emphasis is placed on acupuncture point location of the major meridians, the fundamentals of acupuncture physiology, the concepts of Five Elements, auriculotherapy, scalp acupuncture and hand acupuncture.  The program also focuses special emphasis on specific needling techniques, electroacupuncture, laser acupuncture along with precautions, complications and contraindications of an acupuncture practice. Clinical competence, safety to the public and academic excellence is paramount.

Support personnel (RNs, LMTs, Clinical Assistants) and Medical/Chiropractic students may enroll in the seriies to obtain certification for Clinical Technician. Students may convert to Fellowship upon graduation.

Clinical Technician Certification Program

Support Personnel – Learn How Acupuncture Can Change Your Life and Benefit Your Patients!

Support Personnel (RNs, LMTs, C.A.s, PhDs & Reiki Practitioners) can now benefit from the same training program as physicians! Non-physician health care providers and office support personnel may enroll and attend the same 100-hour class program taken by chiropractic, naturopathic, osteopathic, and medical physicians to earn credit toward certification as a Clinical Technician in the International academy of Clinical Acupuncture. Support personnel enrolled in the clinical Technician Program attend the same Level I, 7-class series as the physicians, benefiting from the experience of both the IAMA instructors and the doctor-students.

Requirements for Clinical Technician Certification consist of:

  • Attendance in 100 hours of Level I classes
  • Obtaining a Passing Grade on the Final Competency Exam
  • Obtaining a Passing Grade on the Clean Needle Technique and Blood-born Pathogen exam

Support personnel and non-physicians may also attend the Meridian Dynamics classes to learn non-invasive forms of treatment and the principles of acupuncture and 5 Element Theory.

STUDENTS

We encourage chiropractic, naturopathic, osteopathic and medical school students to get a head start on acupuncture training and certification by offering substantial discounts in class fees to these individuals. Students may enroll in and attend the Clinical Technician program while still enrolled in school. Send us a copy of your current student identification card and receive a discounted class fee of $285.00.
